This week’s P52 theme is “Inspired By.” We were asked as photographers to think about what it is that inspires us visually. For those who were unsure, they were given links to online databases to review different works of art and find their inspiration. Some photographers, like me, instantly knew who’s work inspires them.
After identifying inspiration pieces, the photography assignment was to bring an element of your inspiration into a new photograph. This week was more difficult for me and really pushed me outside my comfort zone. This also allowed us to tweak on our own style by learning from other artists. Two photographers whose images I absolutely love are Meg Bitton and The Blissful Maven.
I started off with an image that is much more like Meg’s style.
Next I wanted to incorporate some style from The Blissful Maven, I worked to use more dramatic lighting, while still capturing the details that are so important in children’s photography.
Be sure to continue on in our blog circle to see what inspires the other photographers in our group. Up next is Amanda.
